NEWPORT BUSH ORCHESTRA - Term 1 2009

Well, its the first week of February 2009, Monday night 7.30pm, and the Newport Bush Orchestra are settled into their new home at the Newport Community Hall, 17 Mason St Newport. Lots of space, great acoustics and it all sounded wonderful. Greg O'Leary, the NBO's musical director was full of enthusiasm for this, the third year of the group. The night started with a chat and catch up with friends, and introductions to new member Ben from somewhere called Hawthorn. Then it was in to the repertoire - the NBO have their first gig up at Echuca (the Celtic Festival) so there some serious attention to the notes, chords, timing and all that other musical stuff. However as always there was time for a tea break at 8.30, a few biscuits and some more chat.

If you have been a closet muso, like Australian style folk music, realise that Monday night TV is not going to get any better, and would like to join a friendly group of people who will get you playing at real gigs and enjoying them, then the Newport Bush Orchestra could be for you. $80 a term won't break the bank and you are guaranteed to have a great time. If you are interested just turn up on a Monday night at 7.30. If you want to chat about it before taking the plunge ring Greg on 9399 3738. We'd love to see you!
